Christina Lim

Christina Lim received the Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2000.  She is a Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the University of Melbourne, Australia and currently the Deputy Head of Department.  She served as the Director of the Photonics and Electronics Research Laboratory at the same department from 2011-2015.  She was awarded the Australian Research Council (ARC) Australian Research Fellowship from 2004-2008 and the ARC Future Fellow (2009-2013).  She was an elected member of the IEEE Photonics Society Board of Governors (2015-2017). Currently she is serving in the IEEE Photonics Society Conference Council and the IEEE Photonics Conference Chairs’ Committee. She served as the Member-at-Large of the Steering Committee for the IEEE Topical Meeting on Microwave Photonics Conference from 2013-2018. She is currently an Associate Editor for IEEE Photonics Technology Letters and have served as an Associate Editor for IET Electronics Letter from 2015-2018. She has co-authored more than 250 papers in leading journals and conferences. Her research interests include fiber-wireless access technology, free-space communications, modeling of optical and wireless communication systems, microwave photonics, electro-optic sampling techniques and optical network architectures.
