Hanne Ludvigsen

Hanne Ludvigsen is with Aalto University (formerly Helsinki University of Technology), Department of Nano and Microsciences and Micronova in Finland. Her research interests include supercontinuum generation, fiber optic sensors, and optical measurement techniques. She is leader of the Fiber Optics Group currently focusing on applications of supercontinuum generation and plasmonic sensors.

She received her Master’s degree in physics from Aarhus University in Denmark and Lic.Sc. (Tech.) and D.Sc. (Tech.) degrees both from Helsinki University of Technology in Finland. She has been a member of numerous technical program committees of international conferences, in particular, of the yearly held European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC) in the time period 2003-2014 and of the biannual European Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO Europe) in 2007-2013. She has held topical chair positions at ECOC (2009, 2010 and 2014) and CLEO Europe (2007 and 2009). During 2006-2012 she was an associate editor of Optics Express. Dr. Ludvigsen has authored/co-authored over 130 journal and conference publications and holds 1 patent.

For JLT she is handling submissions on the following topics:

  • Optical fibers
  • Fiber-based devices
  • Fiber amplifiers and lasers
  • Supercontinuum generation and applications
  • Plasmonic fiber sensors
