Greg Jasion is a Principle Research Fellow at the Optoelectronics Research Centre at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. He received a PhD in 2013 from the University of Southampton on the topic of helicopter generated dust clouds, and transitioned to the Hollow Core Fibre group to address the challenge of multiphase flow during the draw of microstructured optical fibres. In 2016 he was awarded a Royal Academy of Engineering research fellowship for hollow core fibre development, and has worked on several large research programmes for applications in telecoms and high power transmission.
His research interests include: optical fibre draw models, low loss Hollow Core Fibre (HCF) designs, novel HCF fabrication.
For JLT, he is handling submissions on the following topics:
• Hollow Core Optical Fibre
• Optical Fibre Fabrication
• Fluid Mechanics
• Numerical Modelling
