Hai-Han Lu earned his PhD degree from the Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering at National Central University, Taiwan, in 2000. In 2001, he joined the Department of Electro-Optical Engineering at National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT), where he currently serves as a full professor. He held the position of Chair of the Department of Electro-Optical Engineering at NTUT from 2005 to 2008, and served as Vice-President of Tung-Nan University from 2011 to 2013. He has appointed Distinguished Professor (2006-2012) and Life Distinguished Professor (2013-present) at NTUT. In editorial roles, Professor Lu has served as Associate Editors of IEEE Photonics Journal (2017–2020) and SPIE Optical Engineering (2012–2022). He has participated in various international conferences in roles such as Track Chair, Technical Program Committee member, Steering Committee member, and Invited Speaker at prominent international conferences, such as IPC (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020), WOCC (2024, 2021, 2018), OECC (2020), OFC (2018), and CLEO-PR (2018). He has co-authored more than 500 papers in journals and conferences.
